Ayurveda is a personalised approach to the art of living in harmony with the laws of nature and is the sister science to Yoga. Both are healing disciplines developed over 5,000 years ago in India and have always been used together.

This retreat has been carefully designed to leave you benefitting from the combined techniques of Ayurveda and Yoga – our aim is that you will leave revitalised, refreshed and ready for summer.

The day will include:

· A basic introduction to Ayurveda

· An explanation of simple Ayurvedic seasonal self-care rituals that can be practised at home

· Two Ayurveda based yoga practices: a dynamic, enlivening practice and a nurturing restorative session

· A delicious, Ayurvedic meal created specially for the retreat using the self-healing principals of Ayurveda

· A goody bag full of treats to allow you to continue your self-care at home

I have been practising yoga for 15 years and having experienced the power of yoga in my own life. I was driven to learn as much as I could, so I could pass on this amazing technique to others. I’d enter a class with the woes of the world and leave uplifted, inspired,  in short – sustained. All this from moving about and breathing! And what a journey it continues to be. I am certified by The Yoga Academy (BWY-accredited, RYs 500 with Yoga Alliance US and Yoga Alliance UK).

My approach to yoga is to use the practice as an anchor to develop mindfulness, in an ever more fragmented world, helping you stay connected to your true self so you can skilfully navigate life’s changes. My focus is on restorative yoga and Ayurveda and my classes offer a safe and gentle practice of asana (postures), pranayama. (breathing) and mantra (positive affirmation) and the Ayurvedic approach to wellness.

Individual sessions allow for a more tailored approach to address specific needs and are particularly useful for beginners on the yoga path.

Ellie trained to teach Yoga with Tarik Dervish, an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Yoga Teacher aligned with the British Wheel of Yoga. Ellie continues to train with Tarik, gaining a deeper understanding of how Ayurveda and Yoga together, offer relevant and practical tools to live life with a little more ease, wellbeing and joy.

“I love coming to Colette’s classes. She is very thoughtful, exploring new ideas and her classes always look at nurturing one’s self – something so important for today’s lifestyles. They are a good complement to more active classes: stopping, quietening and calming.” Tanya Shoop Alexander Technique practitioner
